An Important Notice for Students Not Enrolled in English 12 at Magee
You are responsible for:

2. Attending ALL “guidance” sessions hosted by Mrs. Tanabe which are usually delivered through English 12 classes. You will ensure that you will be in communication with Mrs. Tanabe to find out when/where these sessions will take place. Anything that you miss as a result of not attending these sessions will be your responsibility. There will be no “make-up” sessions provided.
Mrs. Tanabe has been visiting English 12 classes to discuss an important document, the TVR. If you are not registered in an English 12 class at Magee, please attend an important session on:
Date: Wednesday, December 07
Time: 11:30am
Room: 211
If you are reading this notice and do not know what a TVR is.... please drop by the counselling suite to see Mrs. Tanabe as soon as possible.
Universities/Colleges Outside of BC: If you require an Interim Transcript, please send VLN a Document Request form: http://vln.vsb.bc.ca/studentServices/studentRecords.htm Please note that VLN will ONLY prepare Interim Transcripts for courses that are more than 50% complete.
1. Will my VLN mark appear on my school’s report card?
No. You will receive a separate report card
(available online) from VLN each term.
2. How will my school get my VLN mark?
As soon as you complete your VLN course, your
final mark will be entered in BCeSIS. Your school
will be able to access your mark by looking on
BCeSIS.
3. How will the Ministry of Education get my final mark?
All FINAL marks are reported to the Ministry of
Education in June.
4. I want to apply for Early Admission - How do I report my
Interim grade to the University/College I’m applying to?
The answer depends on which Post-Secondary
Institution you are applying to:
BC Universities/Colleges:
If you require an interim mark for the purpose of applying to a post-secondary institution, please let your VLN teacher know (by email) BEFORE Spring Break.
Please note that VLN will ONLY report Interim marks for courses that are MORE than 50% complete (that means you must finish at least 50% of your VLN course by Spring Break if you would like the mark to be reported). In addition to completing 50% of your assignments, you will need to have written and PASSED the midterm exam. Do NOT email your teacher asking for an Interim mark until you have completed at least 50% of the course.
VLN will send your Interim mark directly to the Ministry of Education. The University/College you are applying to will be able to access your VLN interim mark (along with all your other school’s Interim marks) directly from the Ministry as long as you have completed the Post-Secondary Institutions Choices form available online at https://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/exams/tsw/tsw/student/
Please note that if you do not finish 50% of your VLN course by Spring Break, it does NOT mean that the University/College will not accept you (or your VLN mark). It just means that you will not be able to use your VLN mark until July (after the Early Admission offers are made). You will not receive your offer of acceptance until July. Some of the more popular post-secondary programs may fill up by July so it is to your ADVANTAGE to complete 50% of your VLN course by Spring Break.
Universities/Colleges Outside of BC:
If you require an Interim Transcript, please send VLN a Document Request form: http://vln.vsb.bc.ca/studentServices/studentRecords.htm
Please note that VLN will ONLY prepare Interim Transcripts for courses that are more than 50% complete.
